Meet Lucy
Numbers are my passion.
Nonprofits are my purpose.
Hi, I'm Lucy — owner and bookkeeper at Prevailing Grace Bookkeeping. A math & STEM teacher by trade (soon to be retired!), I've always been a numbers girl through and through. With more than five years of hands-on experience and extensive study of the uniqueness of nonprofit bookkeeping, this is my niche!

Lucy — Owner & Bookkeeper
With a B.S. and M.S. in Mathematics — plus plenty of accounting courses along the way — I've always been a numbers girl through and through. Math was never just a subject for me; it was a language I genuinely loved. Teaching it for years only deepened that passion. Over more than five years of hands-on bookkeeping experience, I extensively studied the uniqueness of nonprofit accounting — and that deep focus is what made this my niche!
As I approached retirement from the classroom, I knew I wanted to channel that love of numbers into something meaningful. Bookkeeping — specifically for nonprofits — turned out to be the perfect fit. Nonprofits do extraordinary work, and they deserve financial clarity that matches their mission.
I founded Prevailing Grace Bookkeeping to serve organizations that are changing lives — churches, community groups, social service agencies, and more. Every reconciliation, every grant report, every Form 990 I prepare is one less burden on the people doing that important work.
“I'm a numbers girl through and through — and I believe every nonprofit deserves books as strong as their mission.”— Lucy, Owner & Bookkeeper, Prevailing Grace Bookkeeping
What sets Prevailing Grace apart is simple: I only work with nonprofits. That focus means I understand the nuances of fund accounting, restricted grants, and IRS Form 990 requirements — not as an afterthought, but as the core of everything I do.
And just like in the classroom, I believe in clear communication. You should always understand your own financial picture — no jargon, no black boxes. Just clean, accurate books and reports you can actually use.
Nonprofits exist to serve their communities. Every number we track is in service of that purpose — not just compliance.
Fund accounting, Form 990, restricted grants — we speak your language fluently. No translating from for-profit frameworks.
A teacher at heart, Lucy believes in clear explanations. You'll always understand your own financials — no black boxes.
